Discover 3D scanning in a hands-on workshop for FLINTA participants, led by digital artist Joanna Zabielska

About:
In this beginner-to-intermediate workshop, participants will explore 3D scanning using mobile phones, learning to capture objects as well as bodies and transform them into digital models. Starting with basic scanning techniques, participants will be guided through capturing and refining detailed scans on their devices. The workshop will also cover exporting and optimizing these 3D models for applications such as virtual environments, animations, and digital sculptures. Participants will gain practical skills in 3D scanning, working with digital files, and using new tools to expand their creative practice.
Bring any objects you want to scan, your mobile phone and laptop (with Blender pre-installed, it is a free program). Please register at workshop@speis.net and tell us if you are using iPhone or android! This free workshop is for FLINTA participants.

Duration of the workshop: 3 hours

- Laptops with Blender pre installed

About Joanna Zabielska
Working at the intersection of art, design, and architecture, Joanna combines technology with community-focused art through mediums like VR, digital installations, and interactive experiences. Her studies in spatial planning, social design, and digital art in Vienna and Tokyo bring a distinct perspective to her work with 3D forms.
