Body Sonification // Workshop in Rome, Italy
Event Navigation
"Body sonification" is a workshop organized by the Mz * Baltazar's Laboratory,
feminist hackerspace in Vienna. In the laboratory you will be able to "sonify" your body, exploiting its electromagnetic properties and using fair and supportive hardware components.
Join the Mz * Baltazar's Laboratory, with the artist and researcher Patrícia J. Reis and build a device to sound your body. The most active "acupuncture points" on the surface of the skin (without needles) will be identified by exploiting the electromagnetic properties of the body. Electronic devices and open source software will be connected to it to obtain more advanced sounds and more detailed results on how the environment affects the body. This workshop seeks to use only hardware that has been created under fair working conditions, without harming the environment and avoiding product chains related to mining. This is possible because we use electronic components certified by fair trade, self-produced and recycled electronic parts and take advantage of the capacitive quality and resistance of our own body.
The workshop will be conducted in English
Requirements:
+ no previous skills
+ bring your own laptop
Maximum 12 participants
Participation in the workshop is FREE but you must book:
